What the Hell is Design Thinking?

"Design Suffering" was born from conversations with fellow designers, a few years of professional experience, and exposure to the occasional "pageantry" that some designers have gotten very good at exercising.

Design sits in an interesting space: it is less widely-known compared to other studies such as law and medicine, possesses a close relationship to art, and suffers from systemic issues that other fields face (e.g. skewed representation among its practitioners). This ongoing project is an attempt to shed light on some of these facets; for newcomers to design, it presents relatable short stories on design. For veterans, it is a chance to laugh and acknowledge things that need to change in the coming years.

Some comic strips are obviously a little exaggerated, but to quote Pablo Picasso:

“We all know that Art is not truth. Art is a lie that makes us realize truth."
